FAQS
Here are some of the questions people ask me about how therapy works. If you have other questions, reach out to me on the contact form
-
Do you offer in person or online therapy? At this time I only offer online therapy to people in the state of California.
-
How does online therapy work? You will receive a text and/or email 24 hours before and right before our appointment time. You will click on the link provided which will take you to a secure, HIPAA compliant meeting. You can use your phone or your laptop. Make sure you are in a quiet space, where you will not have any interruptions. Please make sure you are not driving. It is helpful to have good lighting.
-
What are your fees?Individual therapy sessions are $200 and occur weekly or every other week. Sessions are 60 minutes long. Payment maybe made by card only. While I do not accept insurance clients at this time, I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I charge the full session fee for cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time.
-
What can I expect from my first session? In our first session we will meet for about 60 minutes to discuss what is brining you to therapy, and to co-create a plan and set goals for our work together. I will also take a full history of your family life, relationships, any previous treatment you have had, your work, your cultural influences and your spiritual beliefs as well as your strengths.
-
How long will I need to be in therapy? That depends on a lot of different circumstances that vary from person to person! In other words, I don't have the answer. But what I can tell you, is that most clients commit to coming in weekly, sometimes biweekly for about 6 months. Then we reassess our progress and treatment plan every 3 months, and make adjustments as needed. We can stop at any point. Therapy is something you chose to do.
-
Do you take insurance? At this time, I do not take insurance. However, I can provide you with a Superbill for your insurance company. If they have coverage for out of network providers, you can potentially receive a reimbursement.
